shopping

I went shopping last week, Thursday I think. Anyway, saw these beautiful peaches and decided to buy them so that I could can them. (Momentary madness) I also bought a little ham. When I was leaving the store, the lady at the door asked me why I hadn't bought a case of peaches. I said that I hadn't seen them in the case and if I had I would have bought a whole case. I'm thinking to myself that maybe I should go back and get them, and while I am at it buy another ham. I answered myself and said I am too tired to go back, I am coming to town again tomorrow and I will buy them then. Wouldn't you know, that store had a fire in it that night, and it is now closed.

Now this is the store where I always find a deal on produce, and lots of times a great deal on different kinds of meat. So that really ticks me off. Not only that, this reduces the number of grocery stores that I can shop in by one third. (We had three stores before, etc. etc.) This leaves one that is high end, and usually higher prices, and one that doesn't really care if you like their prices or not. I hate to think what will happen to their prices now that there is less competition. Side note: The I don't care store was super busy the next day, so I am sure they are very happy about this turn of events.

Moral: Go back when you get a feeling to go back.
